Director of Deployment
Pactum is seeking a strategic, execution-driven Director of Customer Deployment to lead the team responsible for implementing our agentic AI negotiation platform with Fortune 500 customers. This role is critical to delivering value from day one—accelerating time-to-value (TTV), standardizing delivery excellence, and ensuring each deployment sets the foundation for long-term success.
You will manage and mentor a team of Deployment Leads, own Pactum’s implementation methodology, and serve as the cross-functional bridge between Product, Engineering, Operations, and Account Management. Your target is operational excellence in every implementation—delivering results quickly, consistently, and at scale.
What you’ll be doing...
- Team leadership & coaching: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Deployment Leads responsible for all post-sale implementation activities.
- Delivery strategy & execution: Build and maintain Pactum’s implementation playbooks, KPIs, and tooling (together with relevant teams) to ensure every project meets scope, timeline, and value targets.
- Time-to-Value ownership: Define, track, and continuously optimize Time-to-Value (TTV); drive initiatives that accelerate first savings and faster adoption.
- Training systems & enablement: Own Pactum’s training approach, materials, and tooling, ensuring customer users are enabled effectively and efficiently.
- Cross-functional orchestration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to resolve delivery blockers, scale repeatable solutions, and influence roadmap priorities.
- Change management & stakeholder success: Ensure every deployment includes executive alignment, user training, and supplier onboarding appropriate to the customer’s environment.
- Continuous improvement & metrics: Implement delivery QA, retrospectives, and reporting standards. Measure and report on TTV, implementation cycle time, implementation CSAT, and deployment efficiency.
- Initiating long-term success: Collaborate with Account Managers to hand off stable deployments and ensure customers are positioned for long-term expansion and success.
What you'll need...
- Experience with people leadership in SaaS delivery, professional services, or consulting - including managing implementation or project teams
- Proven ability to lead and scale delivery operations, set standards, and mentor others while maintaining a strong sense of urgency and accountability
- Strategic thinker who can scale processes, lead with metrics, and continuously raise the bar for operational excellence
- Familiarity with enterprise procurement and sourcing systems (e.g. Coupa, SAP Ariba) and experience driving change-management
- Project and program management expertise (PMP, Agile/Scrum certification a plus)
- Data fluency: confident working with dashboards and operational metrics (e.g. Looker, Salesforce, Jira, Pactum internal tools)
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to identify root causes and unblock teams quickly
- Skilled communicator able to communicate clearly and credibly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - from buyers and IT stakeholders to C-level executives
- Comfortable in a fast-moving startup - resourceful, collaborative, and driven to get results
- Exceptionally well-organized, with high attention to detail and a methodical approach to process improvement
